A useful RFID report starts with a defined operational question and trusted event data. Agree the meaning, timing, exclusions and ownership of each measure before building a dashboard.
01 / FIELD NOTE
Start with an operational decision
Decide whether a report supports receiving review, inventory reconciliation, movement visibility, exception management, maintenance or another action. Tie each view to a person who can respond, rather than collecting reader activity because it is available.
02 / FIELD NOTE
Write the measure definition
Document the event population, time window, location scope, identity level, exclusions and treatment of missing or duplicate observations. A title such as count, movement or accuracy is not enough to make two reports comparable.
03 / FIELD NOTE
Expose source timing and completeness
Show when the underlying event data was received, which systems contributed it and which events remain delayed, rejected, unmatched or uncertain. A fresh-looking dashboard can still be misleading when its source window is incomplete.
04 / FIELD NOTE
Reconcile the dimensions
Check that item, packaging, location and state definitions agree with the systems of record. Keep the report drill-down connected to the source observation and normalized event so a result can be investigated rather than accepted at face value.
05 / FIELD NOTE
Separate evidence from interpretation
Present raw observations, normalized events, exceptions and derived measures as different layers of information. Do not convert a large read count, a visual trend or a filtered subset into a performance result without a documented rule and project context.

Own the report lifecycle
Assign responsibility for definitions, access, refresh, retention and change review. Reconcile a report with representative system records after a schema, workflow, location or reader-configuration change before relying on it for an operational decision.
